Since it’s inception and first networking event in June of 2006, the Smart Women Business Network has welcomed thousands of women in business and their friends. At each event, participants gather to meet, greet and share business ideas; enjoy scrumptious Hors d’oeuvres contributed by the hosting restaurant; and hear updates from community leaders. Many who participate in the Smart Women Business Network events are members of the "Betty's List" LGBT Community Business Directory. There are various benefits of membership, including free admission to each regular Smart Women Business Network events. At each event, our Information Table is set-up with a display of business cards and small brochures provided by the Directory members. At each Smart Women Business Network event, participants enjoy an informal reception and networking mingle from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM. At 6:30 PM, a brief program begins with a welcome and the popular "Shout Out" where each attendee has the chance to tell her name and business or service so that all in the group can hear. Music for Smart Women events is provided by Mary Spalding of Steer Jam. Mary brings her fabulous steel drum with its joyful background sounds for the group to enjoy. Mary and her group are available for private parties, celebrations, corporate events, team-building, etc. Mary also teaches classes for individuals and small groups on how to perform on steel drum.
