She has been organizing single and multiple day excursions to places with extraordinary beauty since 1985. With a Masters Degree in Environmental Interpretation, she is dedicated to educating people using the natural world as a classroom. Kim has led expeditions from the blue glaciers of Alaska to the tropical greenery of the Amazon Basin. As a naturalist, her area of expertise is the ecology of coral reefs. Of equal interest to her is sharing the cultural diversity of the countries visited. Kim is a certified sea kayaking instructor through the American Canoe Association. Each excursion is led by competent and talented naturalist educators who share a passion for the outdoors. Customized programs are available in Coastal California, The Sierras, Central America, the Caribbean and Micronesia. Activities include sea kayaking, sailing, hiking, snorkeling, tidepooling, backpacking, kayak camping and classroom visits. Smart Women Business Network is an informal network of women and their
friends who are subscribers and contacts of “Betty’s List,” the popular
online and e-mail information service for the San Francisco Bay Area’s
LGBT community. Since it’s inception and first networking event in June of 2006, the Smart Women Business Network has welcomed thousands of women in business and their friends. At each event, participants gather to meet, greet and share business ideas; enjoy scrumptious Hors d’oeuvres contributed by the hosting restaurant; and hear updates from community leaders. Members of the Betty’s List LGBT Community Business Directory attend free of charge. Non-members pay an entry fee of $10 to help offset the administrative costs of maintaining the network.
