   THE “BETTY’S LIST” SINGLES PROGRAM WELCOME! Link to Upcoming Valentines Events “Betty’s List” specializes in events and services for the Bay Area’s LGBT Community. Our over-arching goals are to offer a broad base of activities and resources: (1) Social Networking, (2) Business Networking and (3) Recreational Networking. As part of our commitment to Social Networking, “Betty’s List” began its work with Singles in 2006. Our intent is to help Singles from throughout the Bay Area find each other and make new contacts for friendship, networking and meaningful relationships. Have couples found each other through our program? Definitely, many couples tell us that they met at a “Betty’s List” event. We are always truly gratified when we hear that relationships of all types come to pass. As a nod to our commitment to making new contacts, we often use the name “Connexions” and we do not charge a “membership” fee to join or participate. Also, we are not a “dating” or “matchmaking” service per se, although in some ways, we function similarly. The cost to attend our events varies according to the type of event from those that are free of charge to others that require a registration fee. "At some point in the day, and it happens almost every day, I meet or hear from a woman who is Single and she's looking to connect and find community. That's what "Betty's List" is here for. WHAT DO WE OFFER? * “Singles Section” at Ladies Night - On the 1st Thursday of each month, our Ladies Night event held at Orson includes a special hosted Singles Section, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Hosting along with Betty are our invited supporters and friends. Many Singles attend our Ladies Night events every Thursday. Couples are welcome at Ladies Night too and be sure to bring your "wing woman" friend. * Online Groupsites - “Betty’s List” operates two free groupsites for Singles. There is no charge. Please inquire if you want to know more. * Cooking Class/Demonstrations - In conjunction with Chef Amey Shaw, our “Betty’s List” Singles Cooking Class/Demonstrations are held at selected locations. Attending will be 40-45 Singles from throughout the Bay Area who enjoy wine tasting with sponsor Vivien Gay, a guided mingle and the fun of observing and sampling Chef Amey’s menu that is uniquely planned for the occasion. * Themed Events – For 2010, “Betty’s List” will offer themed events for Singles periodically in varying locations. Watch for announcements about these. These events for Singles are ever-changing since we modify them each time based on feedback and requests from participants. No two events are the same. Each event uses a format that may be informal, structured or a combination. Many include a reception/mingle, wine-tasting, music, guided activities, topic table discussion, door prizes, tips on dating and more. Every one of our Singles events takes on its own flavor and specialness based on who is there, who is leading and what we have decided to include. * Assistance In Meeting Someone - On an on-going basis, we are asked by Singles who participate in our events for help in connecting with someone they have met or would like to meet. We are happy to help informally to the extent that it is possible. * Singles Tables @ Events - Most “Betty’s List” events held throughout the year do include an opportunity for networking specifically for Singles. A designated host will welcome and network with Singles attending our outdoor activities, social functions and more. Watch for more in our announcements.
