At fifty-three, to fend off a mild mid-life crisis and brain numbing politics, Jean Sheldon began writing mysteries.

In 2007, she published the first two books of her Chicago Police Detective Kerry Grant series, and in 2008, she published the third Kerry Grant and her first standalone, The Woman in the Wing, a historical mystery about women in WWII.
