Yo! What’s Up with MECCA?  I want my Women’s Night Now!

By DJ Gray, The Music Pilot

I had a great summer. Weather was exceptional in the city this year. Potrero Hill was on fire! I still have a tan! The music releases where exceptional as well. We will get to those in a bit.

One thing was missing. My weekly dose of lesbianism. The start of my workweek has been unbalanced for me since June. The first months, it was okay. It was June and I was nourished from the spring. It wasn’t until July that I was feeling the vas. It was like I was missing my favorite bike, or bottle of Pinot Noir.

I missed the anticipation of the evening. How would the story of the night develop? Who would be my co-stars in the Thursday mishmash of activities in the Castro? What new characters would be introduced? The romance in the air! Ugh! All of that stunted . . . by a random act of fate.

They told us “just a few weeks.”  It’s been five months! Okay, I had to get that out. I feel better now. I rode up to the Betty’s List booth at Castro Street Fair begging for information on the re-opening. When? Ugh, why? How long? I need my fix!

She looked at me with her calming deep glance - and with her hands over mine - and said, “Our first Ladies Night will be November 1st”.  Hot damn! Ladies put out the call to your peeps. It’s time, once again for the trek to MECCA every Thursday!  See you there!

Okay, let’s get to the music. Want to hear some of DJ Gray’s original music? Here’s the website: www.myspace.comrollergurl
